OUR MISSION
The United States Student Association, the country’s oldest, largest, and most inclusive national student-led organization, develops current and future leaders and amplifies the student voice at the local, state, and national levels by mobilizing grassroots power to win concrete victories on student issues.
LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES
The United States Student Association’s 2026 legislative priorities center on protecting access to higher education and defending student rights nationwide. We are calling on Congress to fully fund the Pell Grant program amid a growing funding gap, safeguard and expand TRIO programs that support low-income and first-generation students, reject the SAVE Act’s because of its barriers to student voting, and protect the Department of Education’s ability to enforce civil rights laws. Together, these priorities ensure that all students, regardless of background, can afford college, access critical support services, participate in our democracy, and learn in safe, equitable environments.
