College students are facing a rapidly changing political landscape. From rising college costs and attacks on higher education to threats to student rights and democratic participation, decisions made on campuses, in state capitols, and in Washington, DC have a direct impact on students' lives.
USSA is host a summer three-part national leadership series for student leaders, organizers, advocates, and changemakers who want to strengthen their leadership, connect with peers from across the country, and learn how students can build collective power to create change.
Through interactive trainings, political education, skill-building workshops, and peer discussions, participants will explore the issues impacting students today, learn about national campaigns and advocacy efforts, and develop practical organizing tools that can be used on their campuses and in their communities.
Whether you serve in student government, lead a student organization, organize around an issue you care about, or are simply looking for ways to make a greater impact, this series will help you better understand how students can build power together and shape the future of higher education and democracy.
Participants will:
Connect with student leaders from colleges and universities across the country.
Learn about the national issues and policies impacting students.
Explore how students can organize and advocate for change at the campus, state, and federal levels.
Gain practical leadership and organizing skills.
Discover ways to strengthen student voice and representation.
Help shape the future of a renewed national student movement.
By the end of the series, participants will leave with new relationships, a stronger understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing students today, practical organizing tools, and concrete next steps to build student power on their campuses, in their communities, and across the nation.
Sessions are held virtually and are free to attend. All students are welcome.
