Joining a USSA committee is a powerful way to shape national student advocacy. Committee members collaborate on key issues, develop policy recommendations, and help drive the organization’s strategic direction. Get involved, amplify your voice, and contribute to meaningful change for students across the country
ADMINISTRATIVE
COMMITTEE
The Administrative Committee, supports the IGC’s internal operations, organization, and documentation. Members help maintain attendance and rosters, take minutes and assist in drafting and updating governing documents. This committee ensures the IGC runs smoothly and maintains strong institutional continuity.
EXTERNAL AFFAIRS
COMMITTEE
The External Affairs Committee helps brainstorm ideas for campaigns and partnerships, develop introductions to new campuses, and highlight organizations with whom we should maintain close connections. The committee will also work to develop toolkits to share with our members and develop a planning and tracking system for student organizing efforts around the country.
FINANCE
COMMITTEE
The Finance Committee is responsible for ensuring the privacy and safekeeping of the organization's financial statements as well as an easily manageable and transparent system.
GOVERNMENT RELATIONS
COMMITTEE
The USSA Government Relations Committee plays a key role in shaping and representing USSA's advocacy efforts through policy research, campaigns, and educational resources at both organizational and congressional levels. We are looking for individuals who have a strong understanding of policy analysis and government processes, along with experience in advocacy and public policy. Candidates for this committee should be skilled in creating and conveying persuasive written materials and engaging in lobbying efforts.
