About the United States Student Association Foundation (USSAF)
The United States Student Association (USSA) is the nation’s oldest, largest, and most inclusive national student-led organization. USSA organizes students across states and campuses to advance higher education affordability, protect students’ rights, and strengthen democracy through nonpartisan civic engagement, advocacy, and leadership development.
USSA is rebuilding and expanding its national infrastructure and is seeking a Legislative Director to help lead its federal and state policy strategy, support student advocacy, and strengthen relationships with coalition partners.
Position Overview
The Legislative Director will lead USSA’s legislative strategy and policy work, supporting student leaders in advocating for higher education affordability, access, freedom of speech, and democratic participation. This role works closely with student leadership, national partners, and the Interim Executive Director to advance USSAF’s policy priorities in a strictly nonpartisan manner consistent with 501(c)(3) regulations.
This position is ideal for someone who understands policy, organizing, and coalition work and who is committed to student leadership and movement-building.
